Favorite Commercial

Image
I always enjoyed a good commercial.  Growing up in an age where there was no such thing as a remote control, fast forward, or DVRs, we sat through commercials.  How else would we know what we wanted for Christmas or what the latest sugary cereal was available to us.  The cookie one was very popular in our house until we tasted it and realized it did not taste anything like what we imagined. Recently there is a commercial that just makes me giggle like a little girl.  John just looks at me and doesn't really understand my fascination with it.  It's the Volkswagon commercial.  I've tried to locate the commercial to link it to this site however, it's not on Youtube yet.  The commercial features a young couple bringing home a baby from the hospital and upon the dad pulling away from the curb he nearly hits another car, the baby then has a flashback moment showing his brief life flashing before his eyes (basically him being carried into the car).  The baby's e

Weekend Happenings

Where do I start?  Better yet, where did I end last time? I have been trying to focus on exercise and watching my portions.  I gave up on eating healthy. I love cheese, wine and beef too much to let it go.  And when I say beef, I mean Hot Dogs, Hamburgers, and anything else you can process.  I have gained a total of 9 pounds since February of last year.  But I think that isn't so bad if you saw all the yummy things I have been eating and not denying myself. Why in fact, (bragging now and probably gained another pound as I type this) we hunted down The Cupcake Cowgirls and devoured their award winning cupcake Vanilla Salted Carmel cupcake on Saturday.  I happend to come across their business card at a Lisa's Boutique and just had to try out these cupcakes. I think that when I die if I am to be buried (I prefer cremation) but my kids want a gravesite.  I want it to read : Here Lies Marylinda Cohron Lover of Cupcakes and other  scrumptious pastries She almost lov

Dallas

Working on her JRP For the past two weekends we have been traveling to Dallas to see and spend time with our baby.  Our 17 year old baby.  The last of the breed, the end of the line, the last one standing.  Our baby.  She had a 10 page Junior Research Paper due on Monday and instead of helping on Skype we decided to drive down and spend the weekend with her.     We also went to Aww Shucks with her friend Devon that weekend for some delicious crawfish  $8.99 per lb, Crazy!! I know.  I remember when we could pay $1.25 a lb.   The size of those crawfish were much bigger than Houston's.   We flew back to Dallas this past weekend for more Crawfish and to view Shelby's play Almost, Maine.  It was her opening weekend and she was the stage manager for the play.  Anyone who knows Shelby will describe her as willful, confident, thoughtful, and in every way a leader.  She was made to run things.  The play was a huge success and it was a treat to see her take a bow w

Happy Anniversary

Yesterday I marked a mile stone that is huge for me.   Yesterday, was a year ago that I began blogging. I am the least consistant person you could ever find. Responsible, yes, consistant in the things I do, absolutely not.  I like to try different things and have never been good at sticking to one thing.  God knows I try.  So the fact that I have posted over 80 times, this makes 81, for the past year is a milestone for me.  I thank all of you out there who without fail read my goofy posts about nothing.  I really enjoy reading the comments afterwards on my Facebook account. Thank you for seeing me through the first year! For those people who enjoy numbers and statistics here is the low down on my little blog.  I have 80 posts, and 2,674 views this past year.  Most of them from my Facebook page and one person from Germany who probably erroneously found my web page.   Dankeschön  !
