20 Years & Counting....

Image
Any man that will profess his love in graffiti form on fruit for me has my heart John and I celebrated 20 years of marital bliss on August 31 of this year.  We have grown up together, lived a lifetime of ups and downs and still look forward to seeing what the day will bring us. We have raised two wonderful children together.  Who also helped us grow up and grow together. We celebrated this milestone by taking TWO WHOLE WEEKS traveling Europe.   Something we have never done without the kids. I figured we would stay in the U.S. and do Martha's Vineyard but John said: "It's our 20th think Bigger!!"  So I did. We left for Amsterdam on Wednesday, 23 of August to spend a few days there before taking a flight to Basel, Switzerland.  From there we had scheduled a 7-day cruise down the Rhine stopping in France and Germany along the way.   Talk about romantic and a pampered vacation. Something cute about John is that he doesn't know how to dres...

A Wine Country Vacation

It's funny despite the beautiful life I am blessed to have, I never considered myself to be a lucky person.  I don't win on slot machines and the few times I purchased lotto tickets/scratch offs, they didn't pay off.  (insert sad face here)  However, that changed when I won an all expense trip to Napa Valley for 3 nights and 4 days.   I think now I have used up all the "luck" that was granted to me for raffles and gambling.  But that doesn't mean I won't keep trying. John and I finally went and enjoyed a wonderful week in Napa and Sonoma.  We ended up extending the vacation to an entire week.  We also invited John's bosses since they never been and because they are very gracious in inviting us to Bonaire and Key West on a regular basis. Day One, John and I rose at 4:30 AM to begin our adventure in Napa in a hot air balloon.  We used Napa Valley Balloon Adventures and found them exceptional.  Had a great time, breakfast afterw...

Our Ghost Adventures

Eureka Springs, Arkansas The infamous 1886 Crescent Hotel Our annual Mother/Daughter trip this summer.  Once this hotel was an all girls school, a hospital with a quack for a "doctor", and a resort. With each remodel and re opening of a new venture, mysterious things have happen on this property.  Eureka Springs itself holds "mystical" powers among the American Indians and the power of the springs throughout the area.  It's an amazing little town.  Only 2, 000+ residents. Shelby and I stayed in room 201 which thank goodness did not have any ghost stories attached to it. Though I have a few of my own in this room.  Even with my Virgin of Guadalupe Taco shirt, I was still spooked and did not sleep a wink that night. My beautiful travel companion who made sure to keep me inline and held me when I would get scared.  She is such a wonderful daughter.  I am truly blessed with the children that I have. We did a ghost tour on...
