Emilio's Birthday

Image
This weekend was a birthday weekend.  And another very hectic weekend especially for my lovely husband.  After spending an entire week in Vermont he arrived at 10:30 am which meant he  had to be at the airport at 3 AM!! Add the fact that he came home to a small dinner party for Emilio.  He grilled our food and enjoyed our family without a complaint.  Thank you honey for being the best husband and father! One of our favorite cake recipes is the Scotch Cake.  The recipe comes from Tell Me More by the Junior League of Lafayette, Inc. cook book.  If you ever come across this book, buy it!!  It has really some amazing recipes.   I highly recommend this super moist, chocolate cake, with the perfect amount of sweetness that does not overpower the chocolate flavor. My 40th

Image
Looking at these old pictures the ones who have changed the most is the kids.  The years go by so fast.  We rented two beach homes and our friends rented one for themselves to share. My good friend Paula, is an amazing cook and she prepared our breakfast, including mimosas! I even had a friend fly down from California.  I forget how wonderful and good to me these women in my life are. ...

With all the planning, meetings, and gatherings in October I came across some fantastic vendors and websites.  I felt it would be beneficial to many with the upcoming holidays and festivities to share them.  Plus having a cold and not being able to go running or running around has me "couch"- ridden. I found  http://whipitgoodcookies.blogspot.com/  , owned by a Spring resident, which makes this very convenient for me when ordering my cookies. The cook...
